Limba trees produce two types of lumber. White Limba, from the upper parts of the tree is a creamy yellowish color. While wood from the lower sections of the tree often has dramatic dark veins or streaks and is marketed as Black Limba. Unlike most exotic hardwoods that are dense and difficult to work, White Limba is easy to work with even for the beginner woodworker. Limba is also renown for it's acoustic properties and some of the most valuable guitars in the world are made with Limba wood.
